[AutoTribune(NY)=Haemi Kim] The unveiling of the new Hyundai Palisade has drawn significant attention following the release of spy shots. The intrigue is further fueled by various concept images based on these initial glimpses, keeping the public’s interest piqued.
The YouTube channel New York Mammoths, known for its vehicle concept visuals, has been actively updating its Palisade predictions, generating excitement among consumers. A notable recent update includes a front-end concept that adds Daytime Running Lights (DRL) around the front, enhancing the design elements spotted in the test car captured earlier.
This new design shifts towards an overall angular aesthetic, differentiating itself from the current Palisade's mix of sturdy imagery with subtle curves. The design evokes similarities with American pickups like the Ford F-150 and GMC Sierra, indicating it's tailored for the North American market.
At the last LA Auto Show, Hyundai indicated that the upcoming generation of the Palisade would represent a significant evolution, with major design changes on the horizon. It’s slated to present a radical transformation akin to the latest Santa Fe, catering to the North American preference for a muscular, angular appearance.
Rear design updates are anticipated to include vertical taillights with fresh graphics, although the precise modifications remain obscured by heavy camouflage. The front end is expected to undergo similarly bold changes.
The powertrain will shift from a 3.8-liter gasoline engine to a more compact 3.5-liter turbocharged gasoline version, moving away from diesel. Instead, a new 2.5-liter turbo gasoline hybrid powertrain developed by Hyundai Motor Group will be introduced.
The launch of the new Palisade is expected as soon as the first half of next year, with plans to sequentially introduce a hybrid model following the debut of the internal combustion engine versions.
