[AutoTribune=Haemi Kim] The 2024 New York Auto Show will kick off on March 27th. The absence of European brands such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Stellantis Group is putting Hyundai Motor Group in the spotlight. With one of the largest booths, right behind the American brands, Hyundai is expected to unveil a slew of new models designed for the local market.

Hyundai to Showcase Updated Tucson and Santa Cruz

Hyundai is set to reveal the updated models of the Tucson and Santa Cruz. The Tucson update reflects the North American version of the model that debuted in Korea last December, featuring front and interior updates along with bumper designs tailored to meet North American standards.

The Santa Cruz, sharing its design with the Tucson, is anticipated to receive similar updates. Rumors suggest the introduction of a 1.6 hybrid powertrain to the lineup. Hyundai will also display other popular models like the Elantra (Avante), Kona, and Santa Fe, catering to local tastes.

Kia Unveils New K4, Sorento Hybrid & Carnival Awaited

Kia has taken the wraps off the design of its next-gen mid-size sedan, the K4, on March 21st. Embracing Kia's Opposite United design philosophy, it boasts a futuristic approach to both its interior and exterior. The full details and the actual vehicle will be presented on Press Day, March 27th, though its launch in Korea seems unlikely.

In addition, Kia will reveal new RV models, including the popular Sorento Hybrid and Carnival, in the local market. There's also a strong chance that Kia will introduce electrified models such as the EV3 and EV4.

Genesis to Highlight the G80

Genesis is expected to display the North American spec of the G80 facelift model, launched last year in Korea. This model, boasting MLA headlights, a new bumper and wheel design, and a 28-inch OLED screen, marks a significant improvement in both design and functionality. Speculation is also high about the New York Auto Show being the stage for the debut of Genesis' forthcoming electrified models.
